Woodworking4Home Package – Revealing Woodworking 4 Home Blueprints

March 23rd, 2010 · Reviews

If you are a woodworking enthusiast or hobbyist, then the new Woodworking4Home web site will be like a goldmine to you.

Woodworking is actually a lot of fun and rewarding. The type of reward you’ll get is the feeling of satisfaction at the end of a project. There’s a certain sense of achievement being able to make something of use with your own 2 hands.

I started woodworking about 6 years ago when I moved into a new house. Most of the rooms were not furnished and buying new furniture will cost a bomb.

I figure I could save some money by making some of the furniture such as cabinets, tables and chair on my own.

For me, woodworking was all self-taught. I bought a lot of carpentry reference books and magazines and read them. What I like most are the woodworking projects where they show you step by step how to make a wood item.

A friend of mine, a fellow woodworking hobbyist recommended a web site to me a few weeks ago. He said they have one of the largest woodworking blueprints he’d ever seen. The web site was www.woodworking4home.com.

Initially, I thought he was exaggerating, but nonetheless, I head over to the site to check it out.

Boy was I surprised, they have more than 14,000 woodworking plans! I could not figure out how in the world anyone managed to acquire so many plans.

It took me about 5 minutes to read through the web site from top to bottom. Woodworking4home package ranges from arbor plans, bed plans, table plans, birdhouse plans all the way to utility building plans and boat plans.

On my last count, there are more than 100 different woodworking project blueprints offered in Woodworking4home!

I did a quick review on the Woodworking4home offer. The selling price is only $49.

That is not bad for 14,000 blueprints. I used to spend $5.99 on a carpentry magazine which has less than 10 project plans in it.

If you like Do It Yourself (DIY) carpentry work, the blueprints from the web sites will keep you busy for months if not years. Not to mention the amount of money you’ll be saving not having to purchase any more woodworking magazines.

Adirondack Chair Plans From Woodworking4Home Review

March 24th, 2010 · Reviews

One of the woodworking categories listed in the Woodworking4Home web site is “Chair Plans”. Under chair plans, there are multiple carpentry project blueprints.

In this blog post, I will do a quick review on the Adirondack chair plans from Woodworking 4 Home.

As I open the pdf file, on the top of the plan is a picture of the completed chair. The instructions begin with some write ups on the history of the chair design.

It seems Adirondack is a place in the State of New York. During the early last century, the people of Adirondack were in a buzz building their own outdoor furniture.

Everyone was trying to create their own unique design. Over the years, it developed into a distinctive style, the Adirondack, and it is now known worldwide. If you are a woodworking enthusiast, the story is simply amazing.

Further down the plan, there is the material and cutting list for the chair. There are a total of 10 key wood components ranging from the chair frame, back spacer, leg, lower back frame, back stats etc.

The instructions in the chair plans were sub divided in to 7 steps. You begin by cutting 13 seat slats, chair frame, back frame and finished off with the final assembly.

All the standard detail diagrams with side, front and top views are available.

How long would it take to complete the Adirondack chair?

It depends on your carpentry skill set actually. If you have been doing woodworking for a couple of years, making the Adirondack chair as per the Woodworking4Home plans may take you a day or two.
